Recycle for Sight

Did you know that you can recycle your old glasses at Specsavers, Louth Vision Centre & Stephen Hewitt Eyecare in Louth? Louth Lions have a collection box at all of these opticians where you can drop off any glasses that you no longer use. Our volunteers regularly collect the donated glasses, box them up & arrange for them to an official Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre for processing.

There, the glasses are sorted to determine those that are usable or unusable, processed, and then distributed to optical missions around the world. Lions help to minimise landfill waste by supporting precious metal reclamation and scrap processing for damaged glasses that are unusable.
