Vision Screening

Vision is a key objective for all Lions clubs throughout the world.  From providing clinics in Africa to facilitate cataract removal, to eye sight tests for young children in more developed countries, Lions seek to help.

To this end, Louth Lions have recently acquired a vision camera.  This camera, via a simple non invasive test, tests for potentially debilitating undiagnosed eye problems in year 1 and year 2 primary school children.

So far, we have visited 5 local primary schools where we have tested over 200 children resulting in over 20 pupils being referred for professional optical investigation.  With local schools support we aim to test all children in and around Louth.

We could only buy the camera and support our local community in this way, with your support at our events.
